Local Information

This section of site is all about the local area, places to visit, things to avoid, and other boating information like local tides, slipways and other organisations on the Clyde that could be of help to you.

As this section of the website is new we also are looking for people to email suggestions on what else they would like to know and any boating trips that you are willing to share including pictures and links to videos.

This link is for the shipping forecast for our region of Malin

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/marine/shipping_forecast.html#All~Malin

This link is for the area of Strathclyde to give you an overview of the general weather. If you are planning a trip to Loch Lomond please select old Kilpatrick as the local location as this is the nearest weather station.

Local slip ways

Due to the huge difference is quality of the slipways around the Clyde and the west coast we strongly suggest speaking to a local marina, or asking on the boating forums before travelling. This is especially important if you boat is longer than 18 feet as some slips are very short and do not have enough room for you to have your car in a straight line ahead of your boat.

As we get more detailed information we will endeavour to put a chart on this site including location, state of repair, cost and maximum size of boat.

To help us to this please contact us with any slips that you have used with as much information as possible.
