Cameron trained with a local outboard dealer before starting the business in 2006 at the age of 23. In the earlier years of the business a recession resulted in testing times so Cameron worked as a retained fire fighter to help finance himself and the business. Cameron did persist and has managed to develop a business with a loyal customer base, expanded the business into larger premises, employs two other members of staff and obtained Tohatsu, Honda, Mariner and Suzuki outboard dealerships with the addition of an SBS trailer dealership last year. This year 2016, Clyde Outboard Services was the first outboard company in Scotland to offer outboard finance packages.
Cameron is also happily married with two children.
Aaron came to the business for work experience on a part time basis in 2012 while he was still at school and living in Arrochar. He showed great potential, was very enthusiastic and mature for such a young age. In 2014 on leaving school he started on a full time basis as an outboard apprentice and has quickly developed all the skills required of him. Aaron is extremely motivated in learning about outboards, boats and new skills, he regularly visits our outboard manufactures for further training and takes part in on-line distance learning with them, he is an extremely valued member of the team.
In the last year Aaron passed his driving test first time and purchased a brand new car, all at the age of 18.
Ryan left school in Feburary 2016 at the age of 16 and joined Clyde Outboard Services as an apprentice outboard engineer. Ryan was interviewed for the position along with four other candidates and showed the best potential. He is about to start a college course in September, has been signed up to distance learning courses on outboards and will also be visiting the outboard manufacturers for further training.
Ryan has always been Involved with boats since a young age at the local boat club and is looking forward to his future career in the marine industry.
He will be 17 years old in August and is planning driving lessons, sitting his driving test and getting "a better car than Aaron"
